Here's everything you need to know about our delicious pastries
What's in the box
In short, everything you need to make your delicious pastries. From our signature all-butter pastry to the glaze spray, plus an easy to follow "how to bake card" so you can make them perfectly. For the recipes that have Crème Patissiere, you will need to add water or milk (either is fine).
Where can I find a list of allergens?
Tarla handles all flour(gluten), milk, egg, nuts and milk in our kitchen. Whilst we have implemented and maintain safety practices and take all reasonable precautions to prevent cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that our products will not contain traces of these allergens. If you have any concerns about an allergy, please contact us at email@example.com ahead of placing your order for further information.
How long can I store the kit for?
We recommend that you bake your pastries within 2 days of receiving it. The kit should be stored in your refrigerator and will be safe to prepare and consume for up to 3 days, including the day you received it. You will notice that the pastry is slightly trickier to handle the longer you have it as the yeast becomes active. If you would like longer, then please see the FAQ about freezing.
Can I freeze the kit?
Yes, you can freeze the pastry for up to 28 days. Any other elements in the kit (eg the glaze), should be stored in your refrigerator. Note, the longer the pastry is frozen, the more sleepy the yeast gets so you may notice that proofing is slightly different than preparing them fresh.
How do I store my pastries once I've baked them?
Pastries taste best fresh, so we recommend consuming them on the day you bake them.
Hot pastries can be stored in a paper bag (not plastic wrap or foil to avoid the formation of condensation), and ideally they should be allowed to cool before transferring to the refrigerator. Pastries will stay fresh for up to three days in the refrigerator.
Can I freeze my pastries?
If you're not going to eat your fresh pastries within 48 hours, the best way to keep them fresh is to freeze them in some kind of airtight container. The best way to freeze pastries is the same method you'd use to freeze bagels or breads or any other pastries.
How do I prepare my pastries?
As long as you have an oven, you're all set. Every kit comes with easy to follow instructions following our basic principals of Roll. Proof. Bake.
I don't have any greaseproof paper!
Don't worry, if you don't have any greaseproof paper then you can use the paper that we use to separate to pastry sheets. If you've already discarded those, then the pastries will cook up just fine without any paper at all- they just might be a little trickier to get off your baking tray.
how big do the pastries get?
The feedback we've had is "bigger than you'd think". When you're leaving the pastries to proof, assume they will grow to between 3 and 4 times they are to start with.
Are there any vegan/gluten free kits?
Not yet, sorry. We'd love to be able to do these and are working on some great vegan/gluten free kits. We haven't quite got the taste and texture right, so are holding off on these until we do.
What do I do if something is missing?

Where do you deliver?
We're currently only delivering to London (inside the M25). We're working on a solution for the rest of the country and should have this very soon. Stay tuned!
What days do you deliver?
We're currently delivering Monday to Saturday, excluding public holidays. We recommend getting your kit delivered the day before you want to eat, so you'll be able to have those lazy long weekends after all :)
What if I'm not home for my delivery?
No problem. Just let us know a safe place for your delivery driver to leave your order, then collect it when you get home. You have the opportunity to include instructions for our drivers in your checkout process, so if there's a special place you'd like us to put the kit, just let us know.
My order hasn't arrived yet?
Our drivers deliver from 9am through to 7pm, so if it's between these times, then chances are it's still out for delivery. If you want a more precise update, then email our drivers at email@example.com and we should be able to give you an update.
My order's arrived, but there's a problem...
My box is damaged/open: If this has happened, please get in touch with us and we will be able to get this sorted for you as soon as possible. What time will my order arrive?
Our drivers deliver from 9am to 7pm, so you should receive your kit by no later than 7pm on the selected day of delivery.
Will the box fit through my letterbox?
We've designed our boxes to fit through a standard letterbox. If it doesn't, don't worry - when you order, we'll ask you for delivery instructions on where we can leave your box in the event we can't post it through your letterbox
My box wasn't in the safe place...
We're really sorry about this, we've trained our drivers on the importance of putting the box in the safe places however sometimes things go amiss. In the rare event your delivery is not in its safe place, please double check other possible spots and ensure it has not been left with a neighbour. Billing and account questions
Which payments do you accept?
We accept all credit card or debit card with the Visa, Mastercard or American Express logos. We also accept ShopPay, GooglePay and ApplePay.
How do I update the email address on my account?
Email us at email@example.com and we can arrange this for you.
There's an error with my billing...
We're really sorry about this, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll sort it out as soon as we can.
How do I update my address?
You can do this easily through the addresses section of the My Account page.
I've forgotten my password
Don't worry that happens all the time. There is a Forgot your password link on the login page which will send you an email to reset your password.
How do I see my order history?
You can see your order history on My Orders section on, after you log in to your account.
Can't find the answer anywhere else, then this is the place.
Can I cancel or amend my order?
We require at least 48 hours notice in order to cancel or amend an order. Please email us at email@example.com or call us on 0203 026 5148 and we will try to help you with this.
I placed an order with the wrong address.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll try and get it changed. Please note, we won't be able to make any changes once the driver has left with your order.
Is your packaging recyclable?
We have done everything we can to make sure that we have as little an impact on the planet as possible. Our boxes, instruction cards and paper pouches are plastic free and can be recycled in your kerbside recycling. The glaze bottle should be washed out and can then be included in your kerbside recycling. The piping bags, cool packs and plastic pouches can be recycled, however need to be emptied and washed out first and taken to somewhere that accepts category 4 plastic - most major supermarkets accept these.
